Last summer I Wwoofed at Dimitris farm and it was by far one of the most beautiful experiences of stay in Europe! Kostas was immediately welcoming and accomodating with our travel plans. As this was my first time wwoofing I was not sure what kind of work we should expect and I was surprised by the laid back manner of life. We would work about 6 hours a day - 3 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon as to get out of the sun ( or visit Hohlakora beach which is literally walking distance from the farm) at the middle of day. On the farm we got a little taste of everything - from helping with farm animals, tending the store, preparing the grapes for wine to picking figs in the orchard. The accomodations were simple but definitely adequate and if we had any problems Kostas would attend to them immediately. There were other wwoofers staying with us on the farm when my friend and I visited and we made the most beautiful little community. We are still in touch today. In the evenings I went r...

Lipsi island is an absolute dream, and having the privilege of staying at Dimitris farm and vineyard is an unforgettable experience. While volunteering on Kostas farm you will spend your days picking fresh figs and grapes from the 200 year old vineyard, managing the farmstand and meeting tourists and locals alike who stop by to enjoy the farms bounty. If you are lucky enough to come during wine season as I did, you will have the opportunity to make all natural, organic wines by stomping the grapes with your own two feet! When I first arrived at Dimitris farm, I felt immediately at home. Kostas was a kind and generous host, who taught me so much about the importance of cherishing the natural environment, and the value of tradition. Within my first week there, he had introduced me to a network of his friends on the island, who would often stop by the farm to share coffee and a chat. It was through this kind of immersion that I picked up the basics of the Greek language, shared laught...

Prepare for the time of your life! Most people who have spent time on the island of Lipsi would wholeheartedly agree that it’s purely just an authentic and magical place. This island goes far beyond a simple vacation; those who come stay for a while. Those who leave battle a continuous desire to return. I personally had the pleasure of spending my first visit to the island with Dimitris Farm and Vineyard as a volunteer during the grape harvest season. Lipsi is most alive during this time of year due to the numerous festivals being held throughout the month of August, the inviting community welcomes you into feeling like family. My stay at Dimitris Farm and Vineyard was indescribable. The estate itself, the vineyard and fig tree orchards, the classic two-century old Greek architecture, and it’s strategic placement at the base of Mount Castro (aka Calypsos Hill), is absolutely stunning. The picture I have from the first few steps you take upon walking into the farm has been my iPhone...
